This is rather late to submit a reminiscence of Al Johnson. I was very saddened to learn of his death in November 2010. I was a fourth year student enrolled in his fourth year seminar course on Canadian public policy at the University of Toronto. He was a lovely man, always encouraging and gracious. I recall being thrilled to learn that Dr. Johnson had worked with Tommy Douglas during the first years of Socialist government in Saskatchewan. He had many stories about Canadian politics. I learned a great deal from him.
